There’s an innate longing for home in all of us — a safe haven where we can unwind, recharge, and simply be ourselves. Creating a home that feels both welcoming and nurturing is essential for our well-being. Mischa was invited by So Cosy to share her insights on how to design spaces that are luxurious yet harmonious, focusing on the use of wool and other natural materials.
In her interview, Mischa discusses how a home is deeply personal, a reflection of one’s unique lifestyle and needs. "Designing a home is about more than just aesthetics," she explains. "It’s about crafting a space that combines beauty, quality, and comfort to create a haven that truly feels like yours."

A HOLISTIC DESIGN WITH NATURAL TEXTURES - NURTURING SENSES
A key element in creating this sense of harmony is a holistic design approach that engages the senses. According to Mischa, the key to a welcoming home is in the thoughtful blending of textures, materials, and colours. “When done right, these elements work together to elevate a room’s mood and overall atmosphere, making it feel both inviting and balanced,” she adds.
Texture plays a pivotal role in this process, and Mischa emphasises how materials like wool, silks, velvet, and linen not only enhance a room’s visual appeal but also provide tactile comfort. Studies show that surrounding yourself with nature reduces stress and promotes well-being, which is why wool and other natural fabrics are so effective in creating a calming, nurturing environment. Incorporating natural materials into your interior scheme can significantly impact the emotional atmosphere of a space.
Natural textures add warmth and richness, making your space feel not only visually appealing but also emotionally nurturing.
